Family Dentistry Digital Dental X-Ray Newburgh, Indiana

Drs. Ogle, Schmitz, and Hart are amazed how technology has changed over the years in the dental field.  The technology of  digital dental x-ray is one area that has changed in the last few years.  Comparing film developed x-ray to the digital dental x-ray will show how the technology continues to assist the dentist and the patient in improved dental care for their teeth.  Film developed x-ray that has occurred for many years typically requires about 10 minutes to develop the x-ray.  These x-rays which are called bitewing x-rays are about 1 and 1/2 inch square x-rays.  With the small size and difficulty in viewing, the patient cannot see their teeth and definitely not as easy to view for the dentist.  The digital dental x-rays are immediately seen on the computer as soon as the x-ray is taken.   This x-ray will be viewed on a large screen computer and is able to be magnified, enhanced with brightness and contrast.  Being able to view the x-ray in this method allows  the dentist to view signs of decay or cavities as well as allowing the patient to understand.    At Family Dentistry in Newburgh, we want you to be able to “see” your teeth and understand.  Stay tuned to our blog  for more updates on the benefits of digital dental x-ray.
