February is Dental Health Month. Family Dentistry has been promoting dental health to young children for many, many years. Does anyone remember the children’s museum here in Evansville at the Washington Square Mall?  It was the Hands On Discovery Museum that evolved into the CMOE that resides in downtown Evansville.  The pictures here were taken about 2000 and show the dental area of the museum. “The Big Mouth” that was a huge mouth was a great method to teaching young children the importance of each tooth and the tongue and how to care for their teeth and mouth. Dental health is important for all ages, however focusing on young children to care for their teeth was of vital importance.  Promoting good oral health at an early age will allow the teeth to have a better chance to be without tooth decay and to last for a longer tooth life. Family Dentistry with Drs. Ogle, Schmitz, Hart, & Fickas have a goal to promote dental health for all ages and for many more years to come.
