HOW FRESH IS YOUR BREATH?

Posted .

The dental exam is continuing with many aspects of your mouth being inspected.  Drs. Ogle, Schmitz, and Hart evaluate many features of your mouth in addition to thorough examination of the teeth.  I hope that you have been following the previous blogs to understand all of the symptoms that can be seen by the examination.  Not only are these items seen but dental  patients can also share what they have been noticing.

Dry mouth can be a side effect of many medications.  Dry mouth may also be a sign of diabetes or different autoimmune diseases.  These may include rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, or lymphoma.  Someone with bad breath may be a sign that the person has not been brushing or flossing as needed.  The teeth may be needing a professional hygienist to clean the teeth and remove tartar.   Once hygiene has been done professionally and the daily routine of brushing and flossing are being performed appropriately, this will most likely result in fresher breath.  If the person, continues to suffer from bad breath, diabetes can cause bad breath.   Remember that dental professional help is what you need to stay healthy and your family, colleagues, and friends will so appreciate the Fresh Breath!
