Removing an object stuck between your teeth does occur more frequently than most would imagine. Family Dentistry would like to share tidbits on what to do when removing this item. First of all, check out the item in the mirror so you know exactly the location and between what teeth the item is wedged. After your observation of the location, utilize dental floss by holding with both hands and having a taut floss to glide in between the teeth and removing the item. Typically this item is food but in smaller kids or adults, the items could be an object that has become lodged in between the teeth. If dental floss is unable to remove the item, contact Family Dentistry for further instruction.  Do not utilize any sharp object to remove the item.  Damage could occur when utilizing a sharp object to the teeth or gums. Drs. Ogle, Schmitz, and Hart would like to protect your teeth and gums and promote a healthy mouth for you and your family for a Lifetime.   For further information on a dental emergency involving this click here.
